About the Palm Springs Certified Farmers Market

The Palm Springs Certified Farmers’ Market is owned and operated by The Palm Springs Cultural Center, the Coachella Valley’s most prolific producer of cultural events. It is the home of live music (local and national), national performance series, live community theatre, film, film series, film festivals, dance, community programs and more.

“Certified” means the farmer has been vetted and inspected by the county Agricultural Commissioner to ensure they are the actual grower of the products they sell. Our goal is to have at least 50% of farmers/vendors “all organic” at all times. Your purchases support local farms and local families.

SNAP

SNAP, Calfresh/EBT, & Market Match Benefits

Our Certified Farmers Markets have been offering the Calfresh/EBT, (formerly known as food stamps) program option in all three of our markets since 2011. Each year through grant funding, we are blessed to be able to offer some form of incentive to Calfresh EBT users to help extend their produce buying dollars in our markets. This comes in form of a match per dollar spent to an extra $10.00 per customer per market. This match has come from various sponsors over the years. For the years 2015-2017, we are very happy to be part of the Market Match program run through The Ecology Center out of Berkley California. Market Match is California’s healthy food incentive program, which matches customers’ federal nutrition assistance benefits, like CalFresh and WIC, at farmers’ markets. In 2015, Market Match will be offered at more than 230 sites, across the state, by 30 community-based organizations and farmers’ market operators. Make sure to go by our market information booth at any of our markets to have your Market Match benefits doubled to buy fresh, local produce!

Become a Vendor

If you can answer yes to all of these questions, you may be a candidate for our markets:

  • Do you make/grow/raise/etc the product yourself?
  • Is your product(s) made/grown/raised locally (at a minimum, in CA)?
  • Is your product(s) GMO-free?

Submitting an application does not guarantee inclusion in our Markets, but is an important step in the careful process we use to make sure our commodity mix is the best for our farmers, vendors, and customers alike. We have enjoyed a stellar reputation for quality over the years and are dedicated to mantaining that standard.
